How beautiful!
I really liked Pienza, soon they will also do the Teatro Povero di Monticchiello, I will definitely come back to see it!
Instead, I arrived in Montepulciano, which is not far from Pienza, a few km away, a beautiful Renaissance town with a characteristic square where the municipal building recalls in its architectural lines the most famous Palazzo Vecchio in Florence. This is the temple of San Biagio, a beautiful Renaissance building designed by Antonio da San Gallo il Vecchio. A unique church that stands out against the Val di Chiana another productive and very fascinating area.
Montepulciano is famous for the production of wine, mainly red. The noble and the red of Montepulciano are the two most famous types. Here I met some very nice producers who explained to me so many things about wine production and how many vines exist in this area: Sangiovese, the prugnolo gentile as well as the vine that bears the name I like best… remember one of the seven dwarfs, the Mammolo (Bashful)!
In Montepulciano they also love art and the summers are characterized by the Bruscello, representations of popular theater, and the Cantiere internazionale d’arte (International Shipyard of Art) where poetry, music and theater merge into fascinating shows.
In my Italian vacation I am a guest of the Carratelli Luxury Homes and I chose to dress in their colors! You can find my trips on their social media: #sciarpinarose. I’ll wait for you in my next post!!
