Description
The villa dating back to the 17th century consists of a main body that has an exceptional perspective glance toward the back garden, which in turn fades into the neatly cultivated fields. In the central body of the villa we find numerous salons , including on the second floor the ballroom with a richly frescoed ceiling ideal for parties, receptions and events that need a prestigious location. To the left of the central body are two large master apartments, to the right are several rooms including the space once used as a galloping post, later as a spinning mill, the characteristic round-headed openings and the arched ceiling with terracotta bricks are still visible. The side wings of the villa are noteworthy, the small church still consecrated, the icehouse with its characteristic conical shape, and numerous other spaces enriched by tall columns and vaulted ceilings.
Condition and finishes
The villa preserves numerous details indicative of the splendor typical of the period in which it was built. The post-World War II period unfortunately marked the beginning of a slow but inexorable decay that was then recovered from the mid-1970s, when, purchased by the current owners, it was slowly and continuously subjected to restoration and recovery works that still continue. However, still much remains to be done to be able to use the villa in its entirety and restore it to its former glory.
Outdoor spaces
Arriving at the villa from the nearby provincial road is a remarkable visual experience. The entrance gate encloses the front garden, which is embraced by the villa and takes one on a journey back in time. The back garden, thanks to the tall trees present, provides coolness and shade on hot summer days and discreet shelter for romantic walks.
