Tuscany has always been a destination for a very wealthy and demanding foreign clientele, always attentive to luxury and comfort. This year, however, due to Covid19, the demand for rentals from foreign customers has decreased, although there has been an increase in the number of Italians who are choosing farmhouses or villas with swimming pool away from the chaos of the city.
The Val d’Orcia, with its breathtaking views and the feeling of living in a UNESCO park, is one of the most popular areas for this type of summer rentals.

“The Val d’Orcia and Val di Chiana have always been coveted and sought after destinations, especially for summer affections from a wealthy and demanding foreign clientele,” explains Gabriele Carratelli, Ceo di Carratelli real Estate, “but this year, due to the Covid-19, the foreign demand has decreased considerably. On the other hand, demand from Italians has increased considerably. Affections for valuable properties in Val d’Orcia, such as farmhouses with 5-6 rooms and private swimming pool, have a demand that can vary from 3,200 to 4,000 euros per week for the month of July, and from 4,200 to 5,500 per week for August.”
