Millennium sunset concert
Thursday 21st June the Millennium Sunset Concert, charity show, took place in the church of San Miniato al Monte in Florence, on the occasion of the thousand years of the abbey.
This unique location had never hosted such a magnificent event before.
It was a show that intertwined music, theater and dance, marked by the narrative voice of the actor Glauco Mauri, thus retracing the thousand years of history and cultural changes.
The Carratelli Luxury Homes has been happy to participate in an event that highlights the importance of the magnificent architectural assets of our beautiful Tuscany region and more specifically of one of the many cities of Italian art, which is that of Florence.
On stage were Orpheus Ensemble (medieval and renaissance music), La Filarmonie (classical repertoire), Medici Dynasty (theater) and finally an unpublished composition written specifically for the event. A 25-piece orchestra with a unique setting accompanied by the skyline of Florence.
Show sponsored by the city of Florence and the Council of the Tuscany region, supported by Palazzo Tornabuoni Association and organized by the Passignano Association, aimed at protecting architecture, art and Italian excellence through this single project.
The music of the Middle Ages and the Renaissance opened the splendid evening, leaving space for more contemporary compositions.
The entire proceeds from the evening were donated to the Community of San Miniato al Monte, for the realization of a sculpture commemorating this special anniversary.
Time travel ended when the sun set behind the hills on the day of the summer solstice with the Millennium Composition, followed by a prayer by Abbot Bernardo.
